This is a two-stroke “jumping jack” compactor, ready to go for trench backfill, soil, dirt, clay, gravel, and tight-area compaction. Good choice when a plate compactor is too wide or does not have enough impact for the area. Rammers are commonly used around foundations, utility trenches, and pipe or cable backfill.
